Key Responsibilities:
As the Chief Medical Team Lead (Chief Oncologist), the appointed individual will hold the crucial role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment & Research (NSICTR). This individual will be responsible for the overall operational and clinical management of the institution, including the following duties:
- Oversee the establishment, operations, and strategic direction of Pakistan’s first comprehensive oncology institute.
- Develop and implement clinical and operational protocols to ensure the highest standards of cancer treatment and care.
- Lead and direct research initiatives, working to advance cancer treatment and innovative care models.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, donors, and other medical and research institutions.
- Build and maintain high-level partnerships to support the Institute’s mission and growth.
- Provide leadership to a team of healthcare professionals, including oncologists, nurses, and researchers.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Educational Qualifications:
- MBBS or an equivalent medical qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Specialization in Oncology (FCPS, FRCP, MD, or an equivalent degree).
- Additional qualifications in Hospital Management or related fields are highly preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 15 years of professional experience in oncology, with a proven track record of senior leadership in clinical or hospital management.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, donor relations, and strategic planning within healthcare and medical research environments.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong background in strategic planning and hospital management.
- Ability to develop and implement operational and clinical protocols.
- Experience in managing and building teams of medical professionals and researchers.
